This project was developed in my second year of Bachelor's studies at Game Sup. It's a 2D side-scrolling platformer incorporating elements of Metroidvania, situated in a vibrant world taking cues from Ratatouille.
The game features petite, hybrid characters that are a mix of cat and food, and our mission is to rescue friends held captive in an establishment overseen by anthropomorphic cats with a craving to ensnare and consume us.
Little Nightmares is our main source of inspiration, so here is a brief analysis of the level design
A significant aspect of the level architecture is the application of size and viewpoint to emphasize the main character's fragility.
The settings are frequently immense and formidable, causing the participant to feel insignificant and delicate.
The level architecture furthermore promotes investigation, comprising concealed sections, riddles, and hazards that provoke the participant into deep thought about their environment.
This fosters a sensation of immersion and uncovering, where participants perceive themselves as active explorers of the world instead of mere passengers.
